Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother’s Day! If you are a mother, I hope you had a great day celebrating you! To all mothers out there, thank you for your hard work and dedication as you give your time, energy, and love to your children. You have the most difficult job with no nights or weekends! Thank you for all you do! If you are not a mom, I hope you enjoyed time with your mom, or at least a face time call like I did! Thanks to the moms who change diapers, do laundry, wipe up poop, make supper, clean crumbs, wipe snotty noses, nurse the sick, listen to kid songs in the car, mop floors, mow grass, vacuum, entertain friends, put away groceries, garden, help with school work, worry, listen, and love children.
Families are created by God and serve an essential role in society. As we celebrate moms this month, they serve future adults by providing security and a nurturing atmosphere while teaching children how to live. Moms work super hard and often do not receive the credit they deserve. I would like to share a story about my own mom.
My momma can sew anything, so she agreed to make my prom dress senior year of high school. I picked out a pattern for a two-piece, lace-up back, lavender silk dress. I tried it on the night before as she finished the last bit of work, but realized my heels were higher than we had thought when we measured for the length of the skirt. The skirt was too short when I put my heels on! I was okay with wearing it, although the length was to my ankles instead of just above the floor. When I put my dress on for prom the next day, the skirt length was perfect – just above floor length! My dad said she stayed up all night working on that . I do not even know how she had enough fabric to make a completely new skirt!
Thank you moms out there for putting up with attitudes and back-talk. Thank you for all the lessons you teach. Thank you for showing girls how to be strong women who love God and treat people with respect. Enjoy your week! Much love to you!
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26-27
